Question: Hello. I have now come to the end of all my aligners and on the whole the experience has been excellent and there has been good movement in my teeth. The course has only lasted just over 5 months. 8 Aligners for top and 10 for bottom. However I am not totally happy with the movement of two of my top teeth. I have mentioned this to my specialist thinking that we would just take new impressions and send them back to Invisalign t make a couple more aligners etc. Is this what should happen? I just feel I am being fobbed off slightly. There seems to be no real reason why the problem 2 teeth can't be moved a bit more. Can you help? Many thanks

Answer: It is usual for further impressions to be taken if after the first series of aligners not all the required movements have been expressed clinically. This is known as "refinement". Invisalign allow for upto 3 refinements except if Invisalign Lite has been used. Some dentist may charge extra for refinement impressions.
