How easy are the aligners to put in and remove? Do they ever break during normal removal?

Placing and removing the aligners is easy and they very rarely break during normal removal.  If a breakage does occur then the patient simply moves to the next aligner.

Do people ever remove them when asleep at night?

I have never come across a patient who removes their aligners during sleep.

When I wan younger I had braces but I am now 20 and my teeth have bit b bit moved back to their old homes that make me feel all horrible by tarnishing my smile. I have nice white teeth as well so if I could just get them straight my smile would be nice! I would like invisalign but worry that at the end my teeth will just move back again. is this the case?,

No because we would provide you with retainers to ensure that does not happen.

i have a dental implant but my other teeth are crooked, can i get invisalign. if i can then how does this work? will the implant just move like a normal tooth with the pressure of the braces?,

The implant will not move. But we can move the other teeth around the fixed position of the implant.

is invisalign suitable for complext cases or should i be going for the horrible traditional bracse?,

We are finding that there is very little we can't correct with Invisalign providing the patient wears the aligners as instructed. The one good thing about fixed braces is that they are in the mouth 24 hours a day. If you can wear the Invisalign 20 hours a day you will achieve just as good results, without all the negative aspects of fixed braces.

Hello, I know this is a site about Invisalign but I want to know whether you think I should indeed go for this treatment or the Inman ALigner? What would be your advice if you know the two that is? It is slightly crooked teeth that is the problem. I would have liked six month smiles but I think my case is a bit too tricky for that. Any help would be appreciated. ,

Our dentists work with both systems and we find the outcome with Invisalign is more predictable.

Hi, I hope you can help me. I have recently been for a consultation and also paid for the impressions etc stage of Invisalign with a dentist in my local area. However, I am slightly concerned as the dentist I have seen is not listed on the Invisalign site as an Invisalign provider. There are two other dentists at this practice who are registered according to the site but I have not seen either of them at any point. Obviously I do not want to spend the amount of money I have been asked for if the dentist is not actually Invisalign registered. Please could you provide some guidance on this and confirm if in your opinion this individual is able to carry out Invisalign treatment. I am not sure if only the practice is required to be registered or each individual.

Hi Louise.   It is a requirement that a dentist offering invisalign has undergone accreditation from invisalign and there name would then appear on the invisalign website. You can ask to see a dentist at the practice who has been certified by invisalign or you can move your case to any other invisalign dentist in the UK or abroad if need be by asking for a case transfer form from the original practice.   Regards Dr Andrew J McCarthy

I'm planning to start Invisalign treatment, i jave done some reserch online and on Invisalign website is only info that is all invisible and last from 9-15 months but then i have seen some forums and there people are talking about refinements after treatment and i dont know how i feel about that.So after treatment after let say 15 months of wearing Invisalign there is no guarantee that i wont have to use any futher treatments?

The avergae treatment time is 10 months. It is quite common that when you get to the last aligner, depending on how good you have been at wearing the aligners, that there maybe a little more work to do, in which case we can make some additional aligners. This is called a refinment and does not come as any extra cost, but would of course add a bit more time to the overall treatment.

I have tempero-mandibular joint dysfunction due to train-track braces on my lower teeth when I was younger. I had many lower teeth taken out and my jaw was forced to be a smaller shape so that 10 years biting chewing and eating have worn down my TMJ that joins my top and bottom teeth. I now live with constant neck and ear discomfort and an upper-spinal issue called Atlas subluxation. My lower jaw is smaller than my upper so I can't bite. Can Invisalign help at all?
