Dr Raman Aulakh is a specialist in orthodontics. He qualified from Birmingham Dental School in 1998. He has taken and passed examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons and holds a certificate and MSc in orthodontics from the Royal College of Aarhus, Denmark.
As well as the numerous practising commitments, Dr Aulakh is a post graduate lecturer at King's College and a visiting lecturer at the University of Aarhus Orthodontic department and a clinical orthodontist therapist trainer at Warwick University. Dr Aulakh is a Platinum provider with Invisalign and teaches his students on how to use the Invisalign system in clinical practice.

Hi. Before you invest in an implant, it is beneficial to correct the overbite first. The better your bite feels, the better the result and success of your implant will be. Secondly, Invisalign can also move the neighbouring teeth to ensure the space for the missing tooth is ideal for implant placement. Finally Invisalign will fit over veneers the same as a normal teeth, so no worries there.

During the first few weeks of Invisalign we commonly see small ulcers develop usually on the insides of the lips. They are usually caused by the edges of the aligner rubbing slightly. After stage 3 or 4 this tends to go away. I sometimes recommend using a nail file to very gently smooth the edge of an aligner if a sharp edge is present.
