Invisalign Treatment Process
A Tailor-made Invisalign Treatment Plan
Patients that undergo Invisalign treatment are first tested to see if their teeth will eventually be straightened out. This is done by taking an impression of your teeth. If it’s good, a comprehensive treatment plan will be organised.
Invisalign treatment is comfortable right from the start and onwards. Don’t worry because there would be no long and stressful appointment with your dentist or orthodontist to achieve a better smile. The entire treatment process is simple.
This is how.
This is about having an appointment with your Invisalign provider to:
- Examine your teeth
- Ask a lot of questions
- Discuss the cost of your Invisalign treatment
- Discuss our payment options
Here, your Invisalign provider takes an impression of your teeth, which will be used to produce a digital model. Using the ClinCheck software, your treatment will now be planned based on recommendations by your dentist or orthodontist
Virtual Treatment Plan
After getting your treatment plan ready, the virtual plan is sent back to your orthodontist for approval. Your Invisalign provider can anticipate how the gradual straightening of your teeth will be at every stage.
When your orthodontist has approved your ClinCheck, your unique set of aligners that will be used to straighten your teeth will be made. The duration of the treatment and number of aligners you will need depends on the complexity of your misalignment. The usual procedure is that you’ll have one aligner every two weeks. Wearing your retainers for between 20 and 22 hours every day is apt. Your teeth will begin moving gradually towards the desired final position.
To check your progress with the first set of aligners, you’ll be seeing your orthodontist every 6 to 8 weeks. After that, a new set will be handed over to you. Any necessary adjustments will be made to your teeth in the course of the check-ups.
Refinements are allowed to give you the optimum result, especially as you near the end of your treatment. This is done by taking another impression of your teeth, from which some extra aligners will be made. The cost of this will be included in your treatment.
On completion of your treatment, you’ll be given fixed and removable retainers. Before you stop using your aligners, a discreet retainer will be fixed behind your teeth to hold them in place permanently. Impressions for a removable retainer will be taken at this same time. It will look very much like your Invisalign braces, but you’ll get to wear them occasionally at night.
You’ll be expected to visit the clinic over the following weeks for regular check-ups with your Invisalign provider, the cost of which will be added to your treatment. This is to monitor your progress to ensure you’re comfortable with the treatment
You should speak with your Invisalign provider to determine how best Invisalign will be designed to fit your lifestyle.
